Full description


Day 1 - Arrival Day

  • If you have booked a transfer with us, we will meet you at the airport and get you to our hotel in Antigua.

  • We will have a representative at the hotel.


Day 2 - Guatemalan Breakfast and Walking Tour

  • Travel to a local restaurant for breakfast with an incredible view of active and erupting volcanoes, coffee farms, and Antigua Valley. Your guide will give a pre-tour talk, and we will meet our travel companions. After breakfast, take a guided walking tour of Antigua before a traditional lunch. 

  • Join us for an optional excursion out of Antigua for dinner, tour a famous local microbrewery, sample their beers, and watch the sunset behind the most active volcano in Central America.


Day 3 - Coffee Farm Tour 

  • After breakfast, we will drive to a small local coffee farm and have a tour. 

  • Learn about the coffee business firsthand, from farming and processing, to what the life of a coffee farmer is really like. You will make coffee the traditional way! 

  • You will receive a bag of fresh coffee.

  • In the afternoon, visit famous local park with walks, restaurants, and photo opportunities of incredible views. Here will be our lunch stop.


Day 4 - Lake Atitlan via Iximche. 

  • Iximche was the capital of the Kaqchikel Maya kingdom from 1470. Tour the ruins with your guide and learn about the powerful families who once lived there and what life was like for their subjects.

  • Continue our drive to the lake and stop in the Lakeside town of Panajachel for lunch and time to explore before arriving at our nearby hotel.


Day 5 - Lake Atitlan Boat Tour

  • Learn about the culture and lifestyle of the Mayan village here. We will visit two towns today. First, visit Santiago Atitlan, the home of the Mayan God Maximon, where we will visit one of his shrines. San Juan Atitlan is a unique town filled with music, color, and traditional industries such as coffee farming, beekeeping, weaving, craft work, chocolate producers, fun, and laughter. We have included visits to the beekeepers and the Women Weaving Cooperative. Your guide will give you time to have lunch, explore the rest of the town and visit the famous Mirador with its murals and stunning views.


Day 6 -  Lake Atitlan Nature Reserve, followed by a free afternoon to relax

  • In the morning, we will visit Lake Atitlan Nature Reserve to walk in the native forest and see the local flora and fauna at the lake. See the butterfly geodome, scenic, hike, beautiful plantlife of the forest, hummingbirds, coatis, monkeys, and more. Although not included in the price if you are feeling adventurous, we can even book you in for some ziplining through the forest! Just tell your Tour guide, and they will arrange it for you. 

  • We offer these optional excursions in the afternoon:

    • Traditional Mayan Fire Ceremony with a local shaman. (Afternoon) 

    • Paragliding over the lake (half-day and weather dependent)

    • Stand Up Paddle Boarding and Cliff Jumping (Morning)


Day 7 - Lake Atitlan to Irtra via Las Fuentes Georginas

  • Today we will drive to the Irtra resort where we will spend 2 nights. Break up our journey with a swim in the volcanic mineral rich waters of Las Fuentes Georginas. This is a natural hot spring famous for its natural environment and health benefits.

  • Arrive at lunchtime to our resort and spend the afternoon enjoying the facilities.


Day 8 - Optional Visit to Theme Park(s)

  • Irtra is famous for having the best waterpark in Latin America, and it also counts with a theme park inspired by world architecture and a newly built nature and activities park.

  • Today is your chance to visit one or all 3 of them, but if you are in the mood to relax, stay at the resort and visit the spa, tennis courts, gym, mini-golf, restaurants, bars, swimming pools, and more.


Day 9 - Irtra to Guatemala City via Santa Teresita Spa

  • Today we make the trip to the city. We break up our journey by visiting Santa Teresita Spa, where we will enjoy the thermal pool circuit, moving through the pools of different temperatures. Here we will have our lunch stop.

  • Speak to your guide if you would like to organize a massage or treatment.

  • We will arrive at our hotel in the evening. Tonight dinner is included.


Day 10 - The Amazing Mayan City: Tikal

  • This morning we will take the 45 min flight to Flores and drive 1 hour 15 minutes to the incredible city of Tikal, where we will have a guided tour which is a real highlight as we walk through the northern Guatemalan jungle observing the wildlife and seeing some of the most mysterious pyramids in the world. It is something that you will remember forever!

  • After Tikal, we will arrive at our hotel and have time to wander Flores Island, browsing restaurants and bars.


Day 11 - Fly Flores to Guatemala City

  • Take the morning to enjoy Flores Island (I recommend getting up early for pictures)

  • Take a lunchtime flight to Guatemala City and transfer to the hotel around 4 pm.


Day 12 - Transfer Day

  • The tour ends with an airport transfer
